The Zambezi Portland Cement Factory has been an inspiration for Dr. Rajan Mahtani. The factory has achieved new milestones in the recent past and continues to deliver excellence in the realm of construction materials. The total output of the Portland Cement Factory Zambia for the year 2014 was 4, 73, 985 tonnes, which included a surplus of 1, 00, 000 tonnes.
The surplus production of ZPC was specifically made with an intent to facilitate one of the most important housing development projects in Africa- the Ndola Housing project. The project involved building 71 houses for the people who were displaced earlier. The contribution has made it possible for the Ndola housing project to complete the task at the earliest and offer shelter to the sufferers.
The Zambezi Portland Cement factory has been certified by the Zambian Bureau of Standards (ZABS) with a ZS ISO 9001:2008 certification that guarantees quality compliances during production. This is perhaps one of the biggest reasons that people choose ZPC over other cement factories in Africa. Going back in history, ZPC is the same factory which had deceased the monopoly of Lafarge in Africa.
Dr. Rajan Mahtani is extremely pleased and motivated with this performance and has confirmed his continued support to various developing countries in Africa. Recently, he promised to build a fresh lime pant for Masaiti which will create an additional employment of 150 people.
