Dr. Rajan Mahtani has been facing a one-man war for a long time now. This war has been for the rightful ownership of the Zambezi Portland Cement. He is a noted businessman and has established various businesses across the nation. One of these business establishments was Zambezi Portland that has been illegally captured by the Ventriglia Family, who are also known as the notorious illegal mafias of Zambia.
Dr. Mahtani launched a case at the Lusaka High Court with the objectively of gaining back his rightful business. The case was heard for a long time. The initial case was launched by Dr. Rajan Mahtani and the Ventriglia husband and wife duo, Antonio & Manuela Ventriglia were the defendants. After the Ventriglias launched a counterclaim, they became the plaintiffs and the Finsbury Investments became the counter-claim defendants.
While the High Court recently concluded the case hearing, not date was allocated for judgement day. As per Dr. Rajan Mahtani’s claim, he held the shares of Zambezi Portland as custodian on the registration. There also many exhibits which prove that the current project in question was, in fact joint venture. The agreement also states that the Ventriglia family did not hold any shareholding pattern. Furthermore, Dr. Rajan Mahtani was accused on arm-twisting one of the individuals who happened to be a signatory. However, it was found that the claim was entirely baseless. This is because arm-twisting one individual will not create any benefit for Dr. Rajan Mahtani since the project included entire Ventriglia family.
As per the judges of the court, the judgment day will be decided based on the oral submissions shared by the defendants as per the prescribed date. From the current situation, it can be assumed that the defendants are lacking evidence and the court judgement is going to be in favor of Dr. Rajan Mahtani.
