The past few months have been tough for Dr. Rajan Mahtani, Chairman of Finance Bank Zambia. These months have not only given his bank a new home, Malawi, but has also attracted the attention of conspirators who are making desperate attempts to defame him and his hard work. With the grand opening of Finance Bank in the capital city of Malawi, Lilongwe, Dr. Rajan Mahtani has looked determined as ever with his development plans. However, there was one conspiracy that made his celebrations short-lived.
An article from one of the ‘well-funded’ news portals highlighted that Dr. Mahtani had bribed the former President of Malawi, Joyce Banda, for regaining the access in Malawi’s banking sector. The argument is poorly supported by a claim where Dr. Mahtani has promised Joyce Banda benefits of US $ 150 million in a bio thermal plant and a US $ 30 million loan towards fuelling the proposed project. Nevertheless, the fabricated comments have failed to realize that bribery takes place when a person is given personal benefits. Offering a bio thermal plant means development of a nation and increase in number of employment for the locals.
So the question that now remains to be answered is whether the conspirators have lost track of Dr. Mahtani’s events or are they exposing their desperation to get into the spotlight? Irrespective of the reason, Dr. Mahtani will always remain as one of the most successful and respected businessman in Zambia.
