Just like the western nations, the African sub-continent also saw the significant disruption of businesses. However, things have started to come back to normal. The Forbes-FIN (Foreign Investment Limited) philanthropy and leadership roundtable conference was one such event that occurred in the year 2021. It is a notable business event that occurs on an annual basis in New York. However, this year’s FIN event was held virtually and was broadcasted across the globe via YouTube medium. Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani, a noted businessperson and philanthropist from Zambia, was invited in this event as an honorary speaker and discussed about the significance of leadership in healthcare. Despite being held virtually, passion and enthusiasm for the event remained the same.
Apart from the FIN philanthropy and leadership roundtable conference, the event was further anticipated for the hosting of the Forbes ‘Best of Africa’ awards ceremony. The award ceremony is looked upon highly and the recipients receive global recognition. The process of selecting the awardees is extremely transparent yet rigorous, comprising of months of verification processes, background checks as well as interviews and discussions. After careful evaluation, several awardees were announced during the award ceremony. Dr. Rajan Mahtani was also selected for one of the awards during the ceremony. Forbes recognised the significant contributions made by Dr. Rajan Mahtani over the years, especially in transforming the banking sector of Zambia. As such, Dr. Mahtani was awarded with the Forbes ‘Outstanding Entrepreneur of the Year’ award 2021. Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani received this award for his philanthropic and charitable achievements over the years. He is known for several successful companies such as Mahtani Group and Finsbury Investments. He is also known for his philanthropic achievements such as Prison Fellowship Zambia as well as Stephen Malama award and scholarship for top law graduates in Zambia.
